Description

Tibet's mountainous terrain enforces a degree of isolation. Buddhism thus arrived there quite late. However, from the 120th century, this culture was absorbed almost integrally. In terms of Tibetan tradition, sculpture is the living incarnation of the divinity. Also, on a daily basis, the faithful make offerings of all kinds to the divinity : food, incense, music, etc... The cranial protuberance the usnisa and the circular mark on the forehead urna indicate the transcendental nature of the Buddha.
